Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal involves the use of special lasers to remove excessive or unwanted hair from all parts of the body, including the face, limbs, underarms, bikini line and back. Unlike temporary methods of hair removal such as shaving and waxing, laser hair removal not only gets rid of the hair shafts, it also causes destruction of the hair follicles and its roots.
It is important for our consultant dermatologist to assess your skin type before deciding on the appropriate laser to use, in order to achieve the best results and avoid unwanted side effects. This is because different skin types respond differently to different lasers.
On average, 5 to 8 treatments may be needed to achieve significant hair reduction. The number of treatments depends on hair thickness, the area treated and the hair’s growth cycle. The effects usually last for up to 2 years. However, subsequent hair growth will be much finer in texture and lighter in colour.
