Chemical Peels

Chemical peels involve the application of chemical agents such as glycolic acid (AHA) or trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to gently remove the outer layer of the skin. This results in regeneration of a new skin layer, revealing skin which looks smoother, lighter and more glowing.

Chemical peels are commonly used to:

  • Treat facial wrinkles and fine lines
  • Improve the appearance of acne skin and blemishes
  • Reduce superficial acne scars
  • Even out skin tone
  • Lighten skin pigmentation

Our consultant dermatologist will assess your skin type and decide on the type and strength of chemical peel to use. Each procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Post-procedure, there may be some redness and mild flaking of the skin, which should subsequently resolve.

Superficial peels may yield almost immediate results while the effects from deeper peels may take up to a week to be seen. For optimal results, continued treatments may be needed at regular intervals.
